ELLEN ECKER OGDEN is an award-winning kitchen garden designer and food writer who lives in Vermont. She is the author of The New Heirloom Garden, The Complete Kitchen Garden, The Vermont Cheese Book, The Vermont Country Store Cookbook, and other books featuring recipes for cooks who love to garden.

She graduated with a degree in fine arts, and attended cooking school with Marcella Hazan in Venice, Italy, and at the Ballymaloe School in Shanagarry, Ireland. Her articles and kitchen garden designs have appeared in numerous national publications, including The New York TimesMartha Stewart LivingBetter Homes and Gardens, Eating Well, Garden Design and Country Gardens among others. She has appeared on PBS Victory Garden and HGTV Garden Smarts as the Baroness of Basil.

She offers two classes: How to Write a Family Cookbook (Begins September 2022) and The Art of Growing Food (Begins January 2023). She offers a hybird class, with on-line teaching and virtual live discussion. You can learn more about her work at www. ellenogden.com
